The June talk from Paul at Discover History was all about the 1920s, a decade of contrasts with people coming out the austerity of the war and starting to enjoy themselves but the General Strike occurred and by the end of the decade people were already starting to think about war again.

The Worcester Red Pack are supporting the work being done in the Churchyard by building a Bug Hotel and then working on their Naturalist badges in the Churchyard over a 4 month period.

The Flower Ladies have done the church and congregation proud with a magnificent display of flowers for Easter Sunday.

The West Worcester Churches Together united to mark Good Friday by performing a Walk of Witness.

The March History talk by Paul Harding from Discover History was about Plague and Pestilence in Worcester and over 75 people enjoyed a highly entertaining talk again, if not a bit gruesome at times!

The December presentation from Paul Harding was all about Christmas through the ages. As per usual it was a wonderful series of fascinating facts and anecdotes about Christmas introducing where things had come from and the links to pagan times but majoring on the Wartime Christmas.

Being the 100th Centenary of the end of the Great War (World War 1) this year was going to be special and the members of the church pulled out all the stops to make it very special. The morning found the church packed with people standing and others unable to actually get in the church for the service. Then in the evening the Events Team had organised the church’s participation in the Battle’s Over nationwide pageant.

On 29th September the latest St John’s Coach trip set off from the Church heading for the National Memorial Arboretum.
